Consultancy support to Board of Residents’ Management Company
Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) is an exemplar mixed use development on the Greenwich Peninsula, delivered on brownfield land by English Partnerships under the Millennium Communities programme. Greenwich Millennium Village Management Limited (GMVML) is the Residents’ Management Company responsible for Phases 1 and 2 of the development, an estate comprising 1,095 homes plus commercial premises.
BBP Regeneration provides strategic level consultancy support to GMVML’ s Board on matters such as: health and safety; risk management; planned maintenance; and; the delivery of estate and communal services, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP). Our involvement has included support in managing procurement processes, resolving construction disputes, and monitoring the performance of the estate’ s appointed managing agent. We have also supported the Board with social issues such as liaison with the Village’ s residents’ association, lobbying for local highways improvements, and tackling anti-social behaviour.
Over the course of our involvement, we have helped to negotiate and implement a more streamlined governance structure, improve the transparency of the organisation, and increase the effectiveness of the management company’ s relationships with the estate’ s local authority, Registered Housing Provider and managing agent. We have also encouraged a long term view of issues such as achieving sustainable cost savings, and raising funds for capital expenditure requirements.
