BBP Regeneration has secured framework contracts with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Central Bedfordshire Council to provide viability assessment expertise and independently assess Financial Viability Assessments in relation to a range of planning applications where development viability is in question.
Recognising growing housing need and affordability pressures in London, the new Mayor of London is reviewing planning policy and guidance, including the recent publication of a draft Affordable Housing SPD, aiming to gradually increase the level of affordable housing in London. BBP will be available to support Tower Hamlets in interpreting and responding to these changes, as well as assessing the impacts of the burgeoning Private Rented Sector and emerging London Living Rent and Starter Homes tenures on development viability.
Central Bedfordshire is also reviewing its ability to meet its local housing need, as well as potentially catering for spillover housing demand from London, with BBP recently assessing the deliverability and viability of potential large scale residential sites within the Luton Housing Market Area and the rest of the Borough. BBP will be available to support the Council in securing contributions for infrastructure required to unlock some of these major sites.
